Pedro Neto scored twice in the second half as Chelsea claimed a 2-0 victory at Everton on Saturday, recording their first Premier League clean sheet since January in the process.
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso had stressed the importance of matching Everton's physical intensity ahead of the match, and his side delivered. Chelsea won more tackles, made more interceptions and outperformed the hosts in both aerial and ground duels over the 115 minutes the contest lasted.
Neto's opener arrived just 43 seconds after the interval, continuing a pattern that has become a notable feature of Chelsea's season. Eight of the club's 17 league goals this term have come within the opening four minutes of a half.
Alonso was reluctant to pigeonhole Neto after the match.
