Arsenal loanees across Europe continued their campaigns in midweek and at the weekend, with Ethan Nwaneri featuring for Dortmund in a DFB Pokal win and goalkeeper Tommy Setford making five saves for Stevenage.

Nwaneri entered Dortmund's 3-2 home win over Werder Bremen at Signal Iduna Park for the final 19 minutes. Dortmund had led by two early goals, which were pegged back in the second half, before winning the tie in stoppage time. The teenager was on the bench on Saturday as BVB drew 2-2 away at Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker, a result that keeps the two sides unbeaten and level on points at the top of the Bundesliga.

Setford had a busy afternoon for Stevenage on Saturday in League One, as they took a share of the spoils with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The 2-2 draw saw him make five saves. Stevenage sit 16th, in the bottom half, but remain as close in points to the play-off places as to the relegation zone.

In Scotland, Ismeal Kabia was sidelined through injury for St Mirren's two Scottish Premiership matches within the past week. The club followed a 1-1 draw with Hibernian by losing 1-0 at Motherwell at the weekend, and now sit eighth in the top flight.

In Sweden, Charles Sagoe Jr started for Kalmar at home to GAIS at the weekend and played 77 minutes before being replaced, with the game goalless. The visitors then scored a late winner. The defeat leaves Kalmar 13th, two points above the relegation play-off place, with four games to play.

Among the women's loanees, Jessie Gale played the final 26 minutes of Newcastle United's 5-1 away win at Durham in a League Cup league phase match on Sunday. Newcastle sit top of WSL 2 and remain unbeaten in the promotion race.

Cecily Wellesley-Smith's Rosengard sit 11th in Sweden, just above the relegation play-off place, after a 1-1 draw with Vaxjo on Saturday. Wellesley-Smith was sidelined for the clash, with two league fixtures remaining.

Sophie Harwood played 180 minutes for Sheffield United over three days as the young defender continues to gain experience. The Blades lost by a single goal in two League Cup league phase matches, 2-1 to Everton and 1-0 at Sunderland.
