Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, with Kai Havertz's first-half effort proving the difference. It was only the second defeat of the season for the Reds, who dominated large spells but could not turn their control into a goal.
Midfielder Trey Nyoni kept his place in the starting XI after the Carabao Cup win over Chelsea and made his first Premier League start. He featured for an hour before giving his reaction to Liverpoolfc.com.
On the result, Nyoni said: “Of course, we’re always disappointed if we lose a game. I think we had enough chances to score.” He added: “But ultimately, it’s fine margins at this level and we got punished.”
Liverpool, who sit fifth in the table with 15 points from nine matches, now turn their attention to a game on Wednesday. Nyoni said the team had to “move on” and put the result right.
