Erling Haaland has called on Manchester City's players and supporters to stay united as the club faces back-to-back fixtures against Liverpool in the Premier League and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

"We have to stick together. We have to stay with each other, and we have to stay positive," the Norwegian striker said. "No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile. We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game."

City travel to Anfield on Sunday looking to extend a perfect start to the Premier League season — five wins from five games — before hosting holders PSG at the Etihad on Wednesday.

Haaland returned from the international break having scored three times in four games for Norway. He described the Liverpool fixture as "always special," noting he has won, drawn and lost there across previous visits.

Now in his fifth season at City, the 25-year-old has accumulated 169 goals in 205 appearances and claimed three Premier League Golden Boots since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. His trophy haul at the club stands at nine major titles, including two Premier League crowns, one Champions League, two FA Cups and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Haaland also spoke of a personal connection to England, revealing he spent his first four years of life in the country while his father, former City midfielder Alfie Haaland, trained at Carrington. "I care a lot about City, I have to say. I care a lot about the fans because I'm a fan myself — I feel with them as well," he said.
