Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has provided more detail on the heel injury sustained by Ryan Gravenberch. The midfielder was not in the travelling squad to Turkey for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Fenerbahce.

Asked at his pre-match press conference whether Gravenberch could be back in time for Sunday's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace, Iraola said: "I don't know, it's a day-to-day thing."

Iraola added: "It's a fracture of the heel. It's about the pain. He has been with some discomfort."

He also pointed to Gravenberch's recent setback: "The other day against Arsenal he was warming up and he was not fully confident. He hasn't improved since then."

"But it's going to be something that every day we ask him, every day we see how he is. If he can be available for the weekend, lovely, he would be a very good help for us. But I cannot tell you right now."

Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League with 15 points from nine games, while Crystal Palace, their opponents on Sunday, sit 18th.
