Manchester City beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to extend their perfect Premier League start to seven wins from seven games, with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland sharing the goals.

Foden, returning from suspension, broke the deadlock after just 19 minutes by sweeping home from Jérémy Doku's pass. Daizen Maeda equalised for Ipswich two minutes later, finishing confidently past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

City restored their lead before half-time when Mateo Kovačić set up Haaland, who powered a header into the bottom corner — his 11th goal in eight appearances this season. The Norwegian added a second midway through the second half, holding off Abdoul Ouattara before slotting in from Iliman Ndiaye's pass.

Haaland appeared to complete a hat-trick with five minutes remaining, but the goal was ruled out for offside in the build-up. Zian Flemming then pulled one back from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time, though City held on through 12 minutes of added time.

The result made manager Enzo Maresca the first coach in Premier League history to win each of his first seven matches in charge of a club. City sit top of the table with 21 points from a maximum 21.
