Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stressed that his side's basics and habits "must be through the roof" ahead of their Carabao Cup fourth-round trip to Fleetwood Town's Highbury Stadium.
The Gunners face a League Two side for the first time in the competition since a defeat at Bradford City in 2012 — a match in which Arteta himself was an unused substitute. "Our reputation, our pride, everything is in play," Arteta said. "Respect the game, respect every opponent because they deserve that, and then try to win."
"We all have one [upset] at some stage," he added. "We know the risk, and in football, things can get very equal the moment you are able to match certain things, and that's why our basics and habits have to be through the roof to be able to win the game."
Viktor Gyokeres started the 2-0 Premier League win over Everton but is yet to score this season across his five appearances. Arteta played down concerns, pointing to positive contributions from the Swedish striker. "He's done a lot of good things. He had a really good contribution in Munich as well when he came on, he helped us to change the game, and that's what we need from all of them."
Max Dowman, voted player of the round after a two-goal showing against Ipswich in round three, will be looking to feature again. Defender Cristhian Mosquera, returning from an August injury sustained at Villa Park, has been included in the last three matchday squads.
"When he has played, he's done really well. We have won some big games playing with him, and we need him," Arteta said of Mosquera, before adding that depth across the squad — including Myles Lewis-Skelly and Dowman — would be essential for a busy schedule.
