Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Leeds United at Emirates Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 12.30pm after a 34-day break.

The extended wait follows an international break that also brought news of Mikel Arteta signing a new contract, raising expectations ahead of the fixture. Arsenal have won each of their last seven league meetings with Leeds by an aggregate score of 24-5.

Leeds arrive unbeaten in five games this season, sitting fifth in the table. Daniel Farke's side have lost just one of their last 14 league matches and have not lost an away league game in London since May 2022.

"I think they fully deserve where they are because they've earned it," Arteta said of Leeds. "We know their qualities, we talked to the players in the last two days, and we are fully ready for it."

Farke acknowledged Arsenal's advantage but signalled his side's ambition. "Arsenal last season was more or less the only team where we had no chance to win one of the games. It's a good chance to see if we have edged a bit closer. We travel respectful, but not with fear."

On the team news front, Christos Tzolis is out for a few weeks with an injury picked up on international duty. Kai Havertz and Ezri Konsa are being assessed after returning early from their respective national teams, while William Saliba remains sidelined with a back problem. Ben White has returned to training after a groin injury.

For Leeds, Daniel James and Joe Rodon are both absent, though Harry Wilson and winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya are expected to be available.

Paul Tierney will referee the match. Arsenal are on an eight-game unbeaten run in games he has overseen, dating back to April 9.
