Xabi Alonso has made four changes to his Chelsea starting XI for this afternoon's Premier League match against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea return to league action after midweek Carabao Cup heartache and host a United side that have won just one of their eight league games this season. The Blues sit fifth with 13 points from eight matches, while United are 16th.

Mike Penders keeps his place in goal after an impressive showing at Liverpool on Wednesday night. He will be protected by a back four of Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Marco Palestra, who makes his first Premier League start.

Moises Caicedo captains the side and continues in midfield alongside Romeo Lavia. Jordan Henderson is not in the matchday squad.

Estevao Willian comes into the attack, Cole Palmer returns after serving a one-match suspension, and Morgan Rogers and Pedro Neto start once again.

Chelsea substitutes: Sharman-Lowe, Gusto, Subuloye, Chavarria, Barco, Nicoll-Jazuli, Quenda, Welbeck and Emegha.
